This is Holly.

She was the reason for my being, and our muse. And as much as she was the inspiration for our work and studio practice, Holly Jean Studios is about a love story too.

Nick and I met in 2017, working for the same design company. To say we are on the same wavelength is an understatement. We function at the same speed, even though Nick is a morning person and I am not.

It took us 5 years, 6 different studios, to get where we are right now. We never had a plan- we always just had a studio to make things whenever the need arose. We came up with this idea for these shelves, as a means to display the artwork of our friends around our own home, and that’s where this company grew from. Sometimes we incorporate curated items made by our friends, because this company is about them too. If you know us personally, I hope you know how much our home is filled with things people have made by hand, and how much those things mean to us and inspire us.

Especially during times like now, I hope the things we make bring you the same joy I feel when I use the perfect handmade coffee mug. I hope our shelves become shrines for the things you love too.

We launched Holly Jean Studios in March of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Holly was diagnosed with cancer in the coming May, and passed away in my arms on June 5th, 2020. She was 6 years old. I miss her all the time.

We’ve since relocated from Philadelphia to Allentown, PA. Nick and I got married on Friday the 13th of October at our (most likely haunted) home with a private ceremony. It was magical.

You can usually find us on South Mountain working on and around our old AF house. I’m probably out in the garden. Nicks probably out back in the woodshop.

Much love, and endless thanks-

Corinne and Nick
